Day 1: Arrival in Avignon

◉ Arrival in Avignon, welcome meeting and bike fitting.
◉ Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed by the guide for a welcome meeting.
◉ During this introduction, the guide will present an overview of upcoming itineraries, highlighting key routes, villages and experiences.
◉ Bike distribution with dedicated time for individual adjustments.
◉ The evening continues with a welcome dinner, offering guests the opportunity to get to know each other.

Day 2: Ride to Mazan via Châteauneuf du Pape

◉ May 25, 2026 - Distance: ~60km / Climb: ~+500m
◉ Leave the city of Avignon and its medieval buildings by bike, crossing the imposing Rhône river.
◉ The busy streets of Avignon give way to the quiet orchards of Bathelasse island.
◉ A stunning bridge — exclusive to pedestrians and cyclists — guides you north.
◉ The cycle paths lead to Châteauneuf du Pape, undisputed champion of the region's wines.
◉ We'll have a wine tasting in Châteauneuf du Pape.
◉ Newly built cycle path on a former railway line, surrounded by endless vineyards.
◉ Arrival at the village of Mazan, under the imposing silhouette of Mont Ventoux.
◉ Wine tasting and lunch included

Day 3: Loop around Dentelles de Montmirail

◉ May 26, 2026 - Distance: ~35-70km / Climb: ~+300 to +800m
◉ Several options available, heading northwest from Mazan.
◉ The Dentelles de Montmirail are clusters of limestone cliffs rising above the Rhône Valley.
◉ A true playground for cyclists: narrow roads, intense climbs and descents, breathtaking landscapes.
◉ Mountain villages: Le Barroux with its Renaissance castle, Suzette overlooking the Dentelles chain, La Roque Alric lost in time.
◉ Beaumes de Venise, famous for its sweet Muscat wines, with opportunities for wine tasting.

Day 4: Gorges de la Nesque Canyon

◉ May 27, 2026 - Distance: ~75km / Climb: ~+900m
◉ This is undoubtedly one of the most incredible cycling routes in Provence, and probably our favorite!
◉ From Mazan, you cycle through cultivated fields, passing cherry orchards, vineyards and truffle oak plantations.
◉ Reach the small village of Méthamis, perched on top of a cliff, overlooking the Nesque canyon.
◉ Long and winding climb on a remote road, gradual and always scenic.
◉ At the top, St. Hubert farm, surrounded by lavender fields, with views of the Alps.
◉ Quick descent to Monieux, perfect for a lunch break.
◉ The best part: 20km descent through the Nesque canyon — perfectly paved road, winding over a gorge, passing through tunnels carved in limestone.

Day 5: Mazan to Gordes in Luberon Natural Park

◉ May 28, 2026 - Distance: 25-55km / Climb: +500 to +1200m
◉ Several options for this ride heading south, from the foot of Mont Ventoux to the hills of Monts du Vaucluse.
◉ With the mistral winds at your back, you pass through vineyards and truffle oak plantations.
◉ Village of Pernes les Fontaines, a vibrant town with busy cafes and restaurants, medieval buildings and stone fountains.
◉ Village of Vénasque, listed among the most beautiful villages in France, with a 6th century Romanesque church.
◉ Two beautiful gorge roads climb to two different passes.
◉ Stone village of Murs, surrounded by lavender fields.
◉ 12th century Sénanque Abbey, surrounded by lavender fields.
◉ Arrival at the village of Gordes, possibly the most impressive of all the medieval villages of the Luberon.

Day 6: Luberon Villages Circuit

◉ May 29, 2026 - Distance: 55-81km / Climb: +850 to +1250m
◉ Three circuit ride options exploring the medieval villages of the Luberon, made famous by Peter Mayle's book 'A Year in Provence'.
◉ Oppède-le-Vieux: lost medieval village, cobblestone streets and haunting ruins — secretly our favorite village.
◉ Ménerbes: situated on a narrow ridge.
◉ Lacoste: medieval streets crowned by the ruins of the Marquis de Sade's castle.
◉ Bonnieux: lively collection of streets, squares, restaurants and cafes.
◉ Town of Apt, known for its candied fruits.
◉ Village of Roussillon, painted in every shade from pale yellow to deep red, using ochre sand.
◉ Saint Saturnin les Apt: castle ruins, Romanesque chapel, lunch in the charming village square.

What is the difficulty level of the tour?
The tour is easy level, ideal for cyclists with basic experience. We use E-MTB (electric bikes) that make climbing easier. Routes vary from 25 to 81 km per day with options for different levels.
Where is the meeting point?
The meeting point is in Avignon, France. The city has a TGV train station with connections from Paris and other European cities.
Are meals included?
Yes, partially. The package includes daily breakfast, 1 welcome dinner, 1 lunch and 1 wine tasting with lunch. Other meals are at your own expense.
What type of accommodation is provided?
Accommodation is in 4-star hotels: 3 nights in Avignon/Mazan in the Rhône region and 3 nights in Gordes in the Luberon Natural Park.
What are the Dentelles de Montmirail?
These are clusters of limestone cliffs that rise above the Rhône Valley, forming spectacular landscapes. The region is famous for its prestigious vineyards and picturesque villages.
Can I see the lavender fields?
Yes! The route passes through several areas with lavender fields, especially near Sénanque Abbey and around Gordes. Flowering usually occurs from June to August, but in May you can already see the beginning.
